Grab 'em when you see 'em
When was the last time you gave your card or contact information to someone who provided you with excellent service?
This is a recruiting technique I like to call "grab 'em when you see 'em" and has been used very effectively .
This technique is something that is very familiar to most recruiters, but probably not to assessment specialists--after all, isn't our job to test people, not get them in the door?
Yes and no. While assessment folks are expected to know how to analyze jobs and create tests, they are part of the greater HR community and should have their eyes and ears open at all times for talent. Assessment units have a tendency to slip into their own world, to their detriment as well as the organization's. Only by truly integrating themselves into the fabric of the organization can they truly be effective. Reaching out to potential employees is one way to get you there.
